A Toast to Wall Art

Michelin Man Making a Toast

Michelin Man Making a Toast

In this vintage bicycle poster, the Michelin Man is raising his glass and making a toast, to what – who knows.

Perhaps to the fact that he started out life as just another ad, but has now come around to being utilised as vintage wall art many years later.

People Art

I think this is something that everyone should do in their home; display photos of people. Of people who are family and friends, so that you are always surrounded by their happy faces, and your children can be surrounded by their extended family and special friends too.

A wall art display of a photo collage not only looks great, but it is also a very meaningful option if some of the people in the photos have passed away, because you and your family are reminded of them everyday, and your kids can ask questions and get to know family they may be too young to remember.

Favourite Colours

Each colour has its own meaning and it is said that different colours can effect you differently - make you feel different things. But when you’re decorating your home, would you choose red for your bedroom just because it is supposed to be a passionate colour, even if you don’t like it? I don’t think I would.

Pick Up Colours

The colors of orange and peach contrast with deep blues and pale purples. Thickly layered paint created with a palette knife, add texture to this colorful oil painting. The rocky cliffs glow in the late sun and the cool waters swirl around them, reflecting their warm hues. Susanne Leasure once again finds the delicate balance of intensity and composition in this beautiful oil seascape from Avila Beach on the central coast of California. We’ve all bought a short because it will bring out the colour of our eyes, or bought one for our son, husband or wife for the same reason. It is amazing how a small amount of colour such as that in your eyes, can be brightened and shine out, when it is near another shade of the same colour. But you can use the same ideas in your decorating and in the painting, ‘Avila Reflections II’ the bright blue of the sea dominates the painting.

However, scattered through the blue is a lighter pink colour which is sure to be drawn out in a room where the wall paint colour is a similar shade, or your rug has smatterings of pink too. It’s amazing what a difference it can make to your decorating.

The Magic of Color

SplashGo for a fresh white color on the trim in your living spaces for that bright, spacious look or experiment with light tints like beige, off-white, or ivory for your accents to get a pleasant surprise. If you like to have a more vibrant look and have neutral walls, you could zero in on your favorite bold color as almost any color is well coordinated with neutral colors. Pastel accents add sophistication and deep ones look fabulous on neutral walls. But if the walls already have a bold color, you can choose a deeper shade for your trim to create a color-coordinated look.

Last but not the least, pick up these fabulous canvas art and valueable tips from Leasure fine arts to create a hypnotic aura about your home!

Decor Trends

“Late Sun Splash’As a rule, wider frames are more suitable for large canvas art, if you are planning for an ornamental or decorative look. However if you like the contemporary and subtle mood, select the frames that are narrow and simple or go for metal wall art. It also depends on the space you want to fill. If it’s a group display, keep the frames simple and minimalist to control the arrangement and keep the costs manageable. On the other hand, you could have more molding if you prefer more coverage of the space. Add elegance to you space, specially via wall art in your home and ensure that it is multifunctional and makes your on the go lifestyle easier and more organized. Remember, planning beforehand is the key to great looking indoor art!
